SPC July: what I'm good at

OK so I'm going to try doing the self portrait challenge again. This month the theme is "skill".
DSC05340 My skill? you ask. I am really good at being on time. Early even. Not many people with 3 young kids can say that. I'm not kidding, I have a really hard time being late, even when I try. We start about an hour before we need to be out the door. I pack all we need to bring and put it in the car before we are ready to leave, then we all get ready and head out for our adventure. My husband is very much the opposite in the punctuality department, and though this causes mucho friction at times, we're sort of learning to balance each other out. I'm learning to chill and that's always a good thing.

ha ha...i am the same way. I think we got that from mom. Usually when i go to a movie, i sit there for about 30 minutes b4 the movie even begins...if friends go with me they think i am nuts and refuse to go so early...funny. i like this picture by the way and your hair looks ridiculously cute!!! love it! p.s. i cant wait for u to move back to Sac...the housing market is crazy good right now..hint hint... :)

luv u,
Heidi

Hmmm, I used to be like that :) While I don't like to be late, I often cut it close, mostly because I got tired of being early/on time and then wasting my time waiting for late people while I had two young kids sitting with me, who get bored really fast when someone's late :)

I'm right there with you !!!

I'm always early and have always been that way....my husband jokes that me being late means that I'm only 5 minutes early instead of 10 or 15 !!!

How do you get all of these cool pictures with you in it but you're not taking the photo, such as the one from today? Do you set stuff on a tripod? Self timer? Even if I could do that I imagine I'd having timing issues like me already being out the door when the camera flashes.

Yea, it's totally posed. It's on timer, I bribed the kids with a cookie to walk in and out the door about 5 times. The kids loved it (well maybe it was the cookie, but there was lots of laughter).

I do love your hair Heather. Great shot too. I have one kidlet and I am pretty much the opposite. Scrambling and getting there just in the nick of time or 5-10 minutes late. Go figure.

my goodness that truly is an amazing skill. I didn't know I didn't have that skill, until the other night we arrived at a dinner appt a few minutes late and the people we were dining with said, no problem, we knew you'd be at least 20 minutes late so we just got here a few minutes ago. They said we're ALWAYS late. lame, eh? I better work on that!!

Hi! Well, I am not an early person, not at all! I guess I am not ashamed of it. I work to be on time to important things, but other things, I figure it's not worth the extra stress. I can start getting ready 45-60 min early, too, yet somehow... :)
I admire that you can do it! I come from a culture that's very relaxed on time, so I go with it. Embracing my heritage. heh heh

it doesn't seem to matter how early i start, how much i plan, how many briberies are put out... we are always late or just BARELY on time.

the picture is fantastic!

My husband is VERY "Time Conscious"
and I am VERY "NOT". Funny how God seems to put two opposites together . . . maybe it's to help us die to ourselves and learn to put someone else's needs above our own. I've learned to work harder at being on time . . and he's learned to chill out and be content with being on time.

P.S. LOVE your haircut and the pic!

I'm the same way....I have to be on time...no matter what, but the earlier the better, I say! Great shot...and great haircut, too!

I love your hair! When did you get it cut?

That is a skill! I'm quite jealous, and embarrassingly late as well.
