So I discovered this morning that I misread the schedule I was basing our homeschool lessons on. I was doing all of the lessons everyday. I was trying to cram like 10 subjects into our mornings and it was not working. Well I made it work, ditching half of it and trying to make up along the way throughout the rest of the week. I wasn't really stressed I was just wondering how people did it all. They don't I guess. I'm relieved. Again I remind myself WHY we homeschool, for freedom, flexibility, and adventure. No matter what we do, there has to be a sense of those qualities in it.
So the highlight last week was our bird watching expedition out in the back yard.

The kids listened and looked and they were EXCITED. I was a little amazed at how really into it they got. It was fun to watch them. It didn't last to long, but long enough for us to see the birds and hear them and imagine where they lived and what they were up to during the winter.

My son went through a real bird interest stage when he was about 8 - just before dragons.
