Rocky
I'm nursing Rocky while typing this right now. Isn't he sweet in this picture, all chubby cheeked, and those big brown eyes. I look at that picture and love him so much, but you know right now, in this moment, I've had quite enough of this little dude. We just got back from our homeschool group. Let me share with you how the last couple hours have been for us: me headache, Rocky crying and crying, more inconsolable crying, ME crying sitting on a bench trying to nurse him to sleep. Walking him back and forth in a stroller figting my own tears back because I really would have liked to have a conversation with someone that wasn't interrupted by my crying son. Throbbing headache now. Rocky finally falling asleep and me rejoining the group of women I'd like to be friends with only to have him wake up again screaming. Then I got in the car and "Only You" by yaz was playing and that sent me into a fresh fit of tears. So anyway, things could be worse I know, so right now here are some things that are good, because I like happy lists.
1. Yaz
2. Jason Maraz
3. Pumpkin pie
4. Therapy
5. John Muir's really beautiful house
6. These words "There is the opportunity to change in every moment"
7. Sweaty sleeping kid hair
8. Smiles from strangers
9. "the story" by Brandi Carlile. I Can not get enough of this song.
10. Free delivery from safeway.com

Priorities

I hope my children look back on today,
And see a Mother who had time to play!
Children grow up while you're not looking,
There'll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking,
So quiet now, cobwebs; dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.

oh friend. Been there, done that. I feel you. But instead of crying, it is usually peeling his death grip off someone else's hair or chasing him out of the street...

I'm sorry it was such a day.
I love that quote about opportunities. Here's to a better tomorrow!
