Today the kids are sick. Fevers and coughing, it's a cartoons on the couch kind of day. I'm thinking about travel today. At 6 this morning while snuggling on the couch with feverish Jack I watched "1,000 places to see before you die" this time the happy couple was in Nepal. I want to go to Nepal, anywhere really, but Nepal looks really nice. I had a friend once who every year or two took her family (husband, and two toddlers) on a oversees vacation. I want to do that. Someday will be the right time for that and it's not now. I guess this is why I'm addicted to reading travel journals, exploring vicariously through those lucky writers. So anyway back to my sick kids. We are grounded. I won't be leaving the house today, or tomorrow, didn't yesterday, or the day before. Right now I'm dreaming of travelling 2 miles to Payless Shoe Source. And then hopping over to JoAnns, then maybe jet setting over to the See's Candy shop. Ahhh I can only dream. One day I'll leave this house again and that will be one happy day.

I totally know what you mean about whisking away on some worldly adventure. I have been thinking the same thing! I guess the travel channel will have to suffice for now :(

Feel better wishes!

Me too, me too, I wanna travel. Gene and I are trying to come up with 10th anniversary plans (it's end of March) and that will be travel within the US. Luckily his cousin is getting married in Sweden in September... I guess I will put that on my 33rd year list. :)

boy do i hear you! i so wish travel meant more that going to trader joes and sipping the coffee as if it were some kind of mad luxury. when i'm not at work i am so bound to the home and even though i adore being with them after a week of work i often fantasize like you about going to just simple places i used to frequent....just to go to the gym or look at shoes. like you say someday and the challenge is to savor today as i know you do!

Traveling is fun, indeed! You will get to do it, some day in the future, if you then still desire. It's not easy with little ones. We do it, cause we have to ;) gotta see our family (in MA, ME, FL, LA, Israel...). So I too look forward to being able to do it as just a couple, Mike and I, or at least with no babies...
You give so much to your children, the mother that you are! I hope you all feel well soon! And then you'll be able to just get out of the house somewhere... I know that feeling! Get well!

I hope you are getting out (even if it's just to go to Payless!) soon. And I hope y'all are feeling better so you can enjoy the weekend.

Boy do I get this. There's many a day I just wish I could hop a plane and surprise myself (and everyone else) with a wild and spontaneous trip. Ahh ... the joys of being grown up and responsible. HAHA
