We are leaving tomorrow to go camping for the weekend. I won't be posting a grateful friday tomorrow. Here are three things I'm grateful for though.

Jack
rocky
Rocky
stella
and Stella.

This will be our first camping trip with the kids. They are so excited. I can't wait to finish packing up everything and just get up there. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for reading.

oh heather, sounds like soooo much fun!!! we've been wanting to take our 2 kiddos but i'm a bit stressed about safety and just being prepared. I'd love to hear little tips on how you do it....but I guess this is the first one so let me know after.

happy camping!

By the way...have you read last child in the woods? I'm just finishing it up, fascinating read!

Vickie, Yes I really loved "Last Child in the Woods" I read it a few months ago. I"ll let you know how camping goes, so far it's just been a lot of packing, I mean A LOT of packing. We are bringing so much stuff, The only thing I'm worried about is how the kids will do at night. I have a feelign I'm going to be up 3 night straight between Rocky and the other 2. O-well, I'm sure it will be fun. Do you have an e-mail?

Have a great time camping! We are planning on camping next month, a few days on the coast, and a few days in the mountains. Seeing my kids in a natural environment with no modern trappings is one of my favorite things (although the laundry afterwards is on the bottom of my list).

The best memories our children have is our family camping experiences. We tented, biked, fished, roasted hotdogs, s'mores, and sat around campfires and talked and talked and talked.

I think you will find that after being outside all day long, your children will collapse with exhaustion at bedtime. (and so will you!!! :) )

Praying for safety, sleep and a great memory-making weekend.

Hope y'all have a great time. My husband always wants to take the kids camping and I'm too chicken to actually 'rough it'. Maybe one day . . .

Heather, just caught up on about a month's worth of posts. Can't believe John went sky-diving! Exciting! The kids are so adorable and I can't believe how big Rocky! I just love reading here. I got so behind on everyone's blogs for awhile. Yours always makes me smile.

I hope you guys have an awesome time camping! Sounds like a lot of work for mama, but hopefully a lot of fun too! I am dying to go this summer, but with a newborn, I think that it would be a little too crazy :)

We just got back from a lovely week staying in a condo on the beach. On the way home today, my husband asked if I thought it would work out to be cheaper if we went on a camping vacation next year instead of our usual trip to the beach where we stay in a condo. Of course not...once you add the cost of my hotel room to his campsite! ;) I sooooo wish I was in to camping but I'm just not. It sounds like so much fun when others do it and I hope you all have a great trip! Maybe I'll be motivated to try camping by hearing about your fun time.

I love the pictures you take of your children.

Jack's the standout in this set - what a comedian ;)
