Table Love

Our new table
I'm in love with our new table. We bought it last weekend at a garage sale. We had a small table that sat four, and while it still fit us all, since Rocky isn't at the table yet, we were keeping out eyes open for something big and something rugged. We wanted to be able to actually put the food on the table as well as the plates, and to have enough room to have company over. We wanted a table that we wouldn't worry about. A table we could be beat up a little and it would just add character . I saw this and new it was the one. It's old, rustic, from Mexico, it has grooves and dings all over it. Best of all it has character. And it was cheap. The family was asking $350, way over our price range, we asked if she would take $125. She smiled and said not likely ,but she would take our number. At the end of the day she called, said she like us and wanted us to have it. So we got an awesome table with six matching chairs, plus a matching coffee table all for $125. When John drove up in our drive way with it strapped it the roof of the car, He proudly showed me the fresh grooves in the wood he had made while getting it onto the roof and tying it down. "Look at those grooves" he said with a grin, so proud he was the first to add our own family history to the table.

That's so COOL!!! Love that shot. It's so artsy. But I must see more pictures of it. I want to get a good look-see of the table.

That's great. I love it! The "found" treasures are the best, in my opinion. We have so many things in our house that we've brought home from estate sales / garage sales / junk shops that I just wouldn't replace for the world -- they have so much character!

Silly me. What was I thinking?? I expected a plain ole picture of a table in a room...

Instead, I love the shot you took. So very cool.

Enjoy your new table. May it be soon steeped in fond memories.

I love your new table so much - I could see platters of food and cups and plates covering the surface and happy smiling faces. Nice photo and I love your wall color.

Gorgeous photo, and the table? Love it! It's especially sweet that the owner passed it on to you because she wanted you to have it. That makes my heart smile :o)

(haven't visited your blog in a long time, found you a while back and still enjoy popping in from time to time)
