2. Getting all the errands I needed to get done for this weekend done last night, 2 birthday presents, one baby shower gift, shoes for John, and a shirt for me.
3. My friend Gretchen is due on the 26th. I can't wait I'm so excited for her.
4. My husband, for encouraging me to keep trying to make friends even though I just sort of want to give up. It's so awkward, it's like when you go on a date with some person you like, and then you have to figure out when to call them again, should you wait, or call right away and risk scaring them off. I keep getting these feelings when I meet someone I want to be friends with. I think "ok if I call or email them right away, they'll think I'm desperate for a friend and weird and avoid me when they see me at the playground with my kids, but if I don't call soon they won't remember who I am". Ug, Am I doing this wrong, putting to much pressure on it?
5. Starbucks sweetend iced green tea.

Aw, I have those feelings too. Mine usually focus on whether or not someone genuinely likes me in return (or is just being polite and doesn't know how to tell me not to call again). LOL.
I bet your new friend is very glad to know you.....
Rebecca.
I love that green tea too...yum!
Hang in there with the friendships, I thought it would take me forever when we moved to the Bay Area...finally I found some that I clicked with right away! You will too. I'd love to come see you again soon. Spring break is coming, that would be a perfect time.
I really do feel the same way about making new friends. But you are so wonderful, so smart and caring and such a good mom, you're going to be overbooked with new friends soon! I have no doubt!
i so know what you mean about the friend thing. it's really hard to make new friends, i always think it's so hard to infiltrate the already set friends. i can't imagine why someone wouldn't want to be your friend though, i think they'd be lucky personally but i'm biased.
Just caught up on your posts... Rocky's getting so big! And I love Jack with his rocks. Here's to you blasting the Chili Peppers a little more often...Mama's gotta have some fun once in awhile! :) Glad to hear you're getting settled in there.
you're doing nothing wrong Heather.
I've been there too, and I know how stressful it can be. I swear some days I wish it were just as simple as it is for little kids.
just follow your heart. I'll keep praying that God sends you a most wonderful friend just for you.
Point 4: i've been reading and commenting here for over a year, so I know what you mean ;p
#4 you're so like my wife. the other person probably thinks the same way, so there's a stand-off. it's not wierd.
soooooo....call now!
jl
It must be a girl thing to feel that way about making friends. Rocky is soooo cute and chunky!
you're not alone on the weird-making-friend stuff, seriously. i think it's a strange thing for all mamas, and a battle to work through the feelings. sometimes i pull away from all my new mama friends, because the emotional stuff is just too much, and other times i cling on for dear life because they are the only things that get me through my day. just roll with it and honor how you're feeling...it will get easier.
