DSC09089
I bought this doll at a flea market for my daughter. She didn't look like this when I bought her. She was quite pretty. flawless skin and her hair all pinned up in a fancy bun. She was wearing a fluffy pink tutu with white stockings and little ballerina slippers. I bought it for my daughter for Christmas. I was the one in love with it though. I've never been this sort of doll girl. The Victorian dolls all fancied up. But she was in amongst a box full of dull looking girls, and she shown. Stella had her less than 2 days before she stripped her naked and drew on her face. Today she said "mommy, look someone shot her eye out". :(. I realized that the doll was meant for me, not for her. I should have kept it, what did I think a five year old was going to do with it? My hopes were she would fall in love with here and keep her nice and neat. Nooooo, she wanted to PLAY with the thing. To tattoo her face and shoot her in the eye. I can't help looked at the little doll now and think I betrayed her a little. I promised her a home and yet I let my 5 year of ravish her. She has a permanent wink now. Poor thing. Lesson in all this. No Fancy toys for my girl. If I fall in love with a toy, it's OK to just keep it for myself.

this made me laugh and feel terrible all at the same time....
it really is a funny story....kind of, right ?

oh well...lesson learned I guess...but now I think I would have to put her away and get her back out as a memory for stella when she's a mommy with a little girl....along with the story you just told....it's just so perfect !

Stella did a number on her dollie :) Briones got a doll at the flea market too and it's now missing a leg, go figure. Welcome back, great to see you blogging again!

Ouch! That would make me feel sad too. And yes, it's okay to have your own stash of goodies - I have a collection of childrens books that only I am allowed to touch.

Looking forward to reading your blog again. Cheers ~ Conny
