Morning

DSC08157
I have a morning ritual. At about 7:30 I prop the front door open, take my coffee, my bible, and my breakfast out on the front porch and eat and read and sit. Sometimes my kids join me eating their breakfast on the step, or catching rolly polly's. It's become one of my favorite parts of the day. It's quiet, and the are people driving by on their way to work. One lady has driven by the last two days and both times she is looking down as she passes by my house, like she is reading a book or something, not watching the road at all. She worries me a little. People walking their dogs go by and we say hi. One neighbor comes out and smokes and my kids always yell hi to her, and then come whisper to me "she is smoking again, she shouldn't blow smoke". A black cat comes out across the street every morning and crosses my path. I wonder if bad luck will come to me because of it. I can't find anything about black cats and bad luck in the bible, but I'm just not sure, I don't trust that cat. Good mornings, make for good days around here. If it starts out rough it's hard to turn around, so I'm loving our little morning tradition, it's been starting us out on a good path these mornings.

Sounds like a lovely way to start the morning.

I understand that black cats used to equal witches long ago, but having owned black cats I am convinced that black cats' bad luck only applies to them. Both cats were killed by cars crossing the road. The black makes them harder to spot, I think, by passing cars.

I ACTUALLY THINK BLACK CATS ARE GOOD LUCK! IT'S ALL IN HOW YOU LOOK AT IT! Here's to good things coming your way!
