Yesterday

Harry_edited-1
We have an owl living in one of our palm tree's in our backyard. We call him Harry. He has been coming for the past week, sleeping all day in the tree. Last night when it started to get dark we went out and watched him start to move around, fluffing his feathers, and moving his head around getting ready for a night of hunting I assume.

I've been trying to get a little more creative with the kids, they get bored easy so it's up to me to think of fun stuff to point them in the direction that will get them playing a game. So yesterday it was pirates. The night before I picked up some pirate books I had on hold at the library, and then yesterday we made up some pirate drinks (juice in decorated sippy cups) and a boat and played Pirate.

This is our boat, fancy huh? it is complete with a plank, the ocean (our dead grass), and sharks (the lemons). As you can see, Stella started making the sharks leap out of the water at us. It was all fun until you get pegged by a flying lemon (ouch), Jack didn't seem to mind though. Anyway, playing Pirates was a hit with the kids.

how creative! the kids look like they are having a blast. thanks for your well wishes for my little guy...i got to bring him home this afternoon. keep your fingers crossed that we get to stay home and act like pirates, too! (except we have lots of snow...we'd have to be indoor, lysol-spraying pirates)

Good for you for your creativity, and I love the owl picture. I love how his little face is all creased up like he's snoozing.
